Various - "KING SIZE DUB VOL.12"
THE LOW DOWN:
The current release of King Size Dub, volume 12, is another impressive display and the last one in the seriues - of how a musical style has progressed. Dub as a style with all its reference points between commerce and innovation. The subtitle "file under dancefloor" shows the way and the track listing fulfills all expectations. The variety of styles (reggae, soul, pop, dancehall, trip hop, dope beats) is the pivot for more "logical dubgression" with all the usual - and some very unusual - suspects of the remixer and artist set. CD for a very special low budget price. Probably really the last one in the series...!

TRACKLISTING:

01. Seven Dub - Intro
From Paris and back on the scene. What a wonderfull Intro for a wonderfull outro of the serie. Seven Dub are one of the bands which appeared on KSD12 more than twice...!!!

02. Noiseshaper - Walking (House Dub Remix) +
Well known for a couple of years, cause of their output on Different Drummer (Rockers Hifi label...) and the remixes for Sly & Robbie and Outkast and Carl Douglas. An exclusive remix for KSD from their third album Rough Out There.

03. Dub Syndicate - Hey Geoff (extended Loop Mix)
Music lovers know exactly what the meaning is with DUB Syndicate. One of the biggest acts in the Dub world and HEY GEOFF is a brilliant extended Loop mix.. not really exclusive for KSD but exclusive in taste and execution.

04. Senior All Stars - Red Leaf Dub +
We are really happy and proud to have this tune on KSD. An exclusive track so far and dub at itīs best. What a flow what a dynamic and responsible for this: a band from Germany and an American remixer with a studio in Brasil.

05. Dubblestandart vs Ari Up - Island Girl (Mellow Dub) +
We all know them and we all love them. Both.. these crazy guys from Vienna always looking for the perferct beat and dub and the crazy punky reggae girl/woman Ari Up (from The Slits fame). There is also a great video from this tune on the internet around and the mellow dub is exclusive for KSD 12 - made at troubleheadquarter Vienna. Perfect.

06. The Slackers - Exploitation Dub
The wonderfull and crazy Slackers form the Big Apple New York. What a LIVE band ..look out for their Reggae Summer Jam gig this Summer in Cologne. They playing their ass of and you shouldnīt miss it. Trust me, as well as the Exploitation Dub and tune from their last and first and pure dub album on Echo Beach.

07. Sista Gracy feat. Sugar Minott - May Praises (dub) +
It is quite a long time ago but when you listen to this tune - it seems that Garcy was only a couple of month away and not performing and jamming with the Yardy Crew... but in fact it took 10 years to work out a comeback and they are sounding fresher than ever. A splendid corporation with Sugar Minott and a dub version on top. Look out for the new Sista Garcy album on Echo Beach.

08. Jamaram - No Place To run To (dub mix)
A very special dub by these excelent guys from Jamaram. A bit of everything and not to forget DUB. Really cool and timeless.

09. Wet Cookies - You Somehow (Dub) +
A sideproject by Axel Hirn (Noiseshaper) and the jazz drummer Bjoern Klein from Vienna. Sonic Dub Jazz with ...??? Hard to explain - but wonderfull.

10. Rude 66 - Revenge of the Napalm Dread
What a title and what a tune. A legendary artist from the top secret dub town in Germany: Hannover. This one is class...specially the sample. Dig it.

11. The Ruts - Babylon`s Burning (Dreadzone Remix)
One of the most legendary Punky Reggae bandīs ever...tougher than Stiff Little Fingers and technicially much better than The Clash. Here we come... with one of their hits reworked from the legendary Dreadzone from London. A must have... ! Killer.

12. Dub Spencer & Trance Hill - Rio (dub)
One of the great newcomer last year . They are from Switzerland and their sound is as deep as the bottom of a swiss mountain lake. Landscape sounds meets King Tubby. wonderfull.

13. Monosolar - Romaticize +
At the end of the KSD serie we present two more poppy dub tunes. Quite open minded. Monosolar are from Hamburg and they know exactly how to romanticize dub and trip hop..??

14. Jonny Blender - Thinking of a better day +
Cool dude from Hamburg who is mixing mainstream pop with pop and pop and - no dub at all. A spezial gift for the time without the King Size Dub serie...: Thinking of a better day !

+ = Exclusive and unreleased...!
